A Comprehensive Guide For Linksys Router EA8300 Setup

How to Set Up Linksys EA8300 Wireless Router

There are two effective methods to set up the Linksys EA8300 router on your system. Below, we have discussed each method in great detail to help you to set up this router on your PC. 

Setting Up Linksys EA8300 Router without Installation CD or Manually

You can easily set up the Linksys EA8300 router without the installation CD or manually. The following steps will help you:

Step 1 

Ensure that the modem is performing correctly. Now, you will need to connect the modem to the Internet port or WAN port on the router using an Ethernet cable. After that, connect the system to one of the four LAN ports on the router using the Ethernet cable.

Step 2

Now once you connect the modem and computer to the router, we will need to open the setup page of the Linksys router. So, launch a web browser, type 192.168.1.1 in the Address bar and then press the Enter button.

Step 3

On the login page, it will ask you for the Router Username and Password to log in. In the password field, type the default password of the Linksys EA8300 which is Admin in and leave the username field blank. 

Step 4

From the Setup page, mark the box next to “I want to skip Setup and configure my router manually” and then click on Next. 

Step 5

In the next window, we will need to change the internet connection settings of the router. So, click on the Connectivity tab on the left panel and then click on the Internet Settings tab. 

Step 6

In the Internet Settings tab, select the Network connection from the “Type of Internet Connection” that you want and then fill up all the details that appear on the screen. After that, click on the Apply option.

Step 7

Click on the Wireless icon on the left panel. On the Wireless tab, you will see three different bands. Type the same SSID or Wireless network name and Password in the WiFi name and Password field respectively on all the three bands. We suggest you change the password. After that, click on the Apply option to save the changes. 

Step 8

Once you are done, try to connect the system to the wireless network. So, click on the Network icon and select your Wireless network and then type the Password. Now your computer should be connected successfully to the wireless network.

Using the Smart Setup Wizard to Set Up the Linksys EA8300 Router

If you fail to set up the Linksys router manually, then use the Smart Setup Wizard process to set up the Linksys EA8300 Router on the device. If you do not know how to do that then follow these steps:

Step 1 

Connect the antennas to the router, if the Linksys EA8300 comes with external antennas. Then switch off the modem and connect the modem to the router’s internet port using the Ethernet cable. 

Step 2

After that, connect the router to the power source. Ensure that the power switch is set to ON if the router has a power switch. Wait until the LED is solid. 

Step 3

Connect the device to the router. After connecting the device, launch a web browser and type 192.168.1.1 and then hit the Enter button.

Step 4

Tick on the box next to the “I have read and accepted the License Terms for using this software” option on the Smart WiFi setup window and then click on Next.

Step 5

Now the setup wizard will start to find your router and internet connection. After that, click on Next. 

Step 6

Type the WiFi Name and WiFi Password and then click on Next. Afterward, connect to the router’s WiFi. Now your router has a new WiFi name and password. So, you will connect your computer to the new WiFi to continue with the setup process. After that, click on the Next option.

Step 7

In the next window, Create a router password window will appear. In the ‘Create a router password’ box, enter the router password and then click on the Next option. This is the router’s local administrator password. 

Step 8

On the next screen, “Your router is set up!” message will appear. Now the router has been set up successfully. After that, click on the Next option and then complete the setup.
